Moquito Coils and simple metal device for burning them

I finally noticed someone asked me a question on my blog about the Japanese “Mosquito Pig” (my words). Many people in Japan burn anti-mosquito incense to avoid being bitten by mosquitoes. The literal translation for this product is “mosquito-catching incense”…

“katori senkou” 蚊(“ka”=mosquito) 取り(“tori”=capturing) 線香(“senkou”=incense)

I decided to check out the local Japanese market, Mitsuwa, to see if they had this product.

I don’t know the King brand, but it looks like the same stuff I am familiar with. I just didn’t find the pig—they only had some simple metal device for burning the incense. It would be just as effective, but not as cute!
